Founded in 1911, Paloma Group is considered a pioneering and world-leading manufacturer of gas-powered appliances. Throughout our over 100-year history of establishment and development, Paloma has continuously strived and spearheaded technological innovations to deliver better benefits to consumers.

Over the years, Paloma has introduced more than 300 types of gas-powered products for household, industrial, and restaurant use. With the motto of “Integrity and Continuous Endeavors”, Paloma always listens to customers to satisfy diverse consumer needs not only in Japan but around the world.

Furthermore, we acknowledge that natural resources are finite, and the mission to create a green and clean planet is not solely the responsibility of one entity. Therefore, Paloma is committed to investing in R&D to reduce CO2 and NOx emissions in our business operations. The goal of conservation is also a guiding principle throughout Paloma’s activities.

Paloma has been present in the Vietnamese market for over 20 years with our products trusted by many Vietnamese people due to their safety, durability, and energy efficiency. In response to customer expectations, Paloma is determined to invest in constructing a manufacturing plant for assembling and producing Paloma-branded products in Vietnam.

In April 2015, after nearly 2 years of construction, the Paloma Vietnam plant was officially inaugurated and put into production.

PALOMA VIETNAM is a 100% foreign-owned plant under Japan Paloma Group, with our address at 114-116 Street 6, VSIP Hai Phong Industrial Park, Thuy Trieu Commune, Thuy Nguyen District, Hai Phong.

Yusaburo Kobayashi founded Kobayashi Gas Electric Appliance Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Furuwatachi, Nagoya City

1931

The company name was changed to “Kobayashi Seisakusho”.

November 1933

The first generation, Yusaburo Kobayashi, and his eldest son, Shinichi Kobayashi, inherited the business.

February 1938

A new factory was established at the current location of 24 Momozono-cho, Mizuho-ku, Nagoya.

August 1945

Production of gas appliances resumed as soon as the war ended.

April 1952

Expanded production of gas stoves, gas ranges, gas water heaters, etc. Expanded nationwide using “Paloma” as the brand name.

1958

Released a gas rice cooker that uses fuse metal.

May 1962

Opened Paloma School (skill training course) for customers.

February 1964

The manufacturing department was separated from Kobayashi Seisakusho Co., Ltd. as Paloma Industries Co., Ltd.
In addition, the sales department was renamed Paloma Co., Ltd. (January 1965).

March 1965

Gas water heater PH-4 E was selected as Japan’s first Good Design Product (Ministry of International Trade and Industry) in the gas appliance category.

September 1968

Established a new factory in Nogata City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Established as “Paloma Industries Nogata Factory”.

April 1971

60th anniversary party held.

October 1972

Six models of gas rice cookers K type and KF type were selected as Good Design Products (Ministry of International Trade and Industry).

April 1973

Gas water heater received AGA (American Gas Association) certification.
Established local subsidiary “Paloma Industries, Inc.” in Chicago.

June 1977

We are the first in the industry to launch a water heater equipped with an incomplete combustion prevention device.

November 1977

 President Shinichi Kobayashi received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in recognition of his contributions to the development of the industry.

March 1981

Shinichi Kobayashi, the second generation president, became chairman, and his eldest son, Toshihiro Kobayashi, managing director, became president.

September 1982

All models of stop-start instant water heaters are equipped with an incomplete combustion prevention device.

October 1984

Paloma’s unique safety mark setting.

April 1985

Pulse combustion fryer PF-18 received the Energy Saving Excellence Product Award.

October 1985

The ultra-thin table stove won the Grand Prize in the Good Design category.

November 1985

Decided to provide technical cooperation to the People’s Republic of China.

Pulse steam boiler won the Energy Saving Excellence Product Award.

April 1988

Ream Corporation, a major U.S. water heater manufacturer and major air conditioner manufacturer, is now under the Paloma Group.

October 1988

Paloma Sapporo Research Institute opened.

April 1989

Development of pulse combustion method and its application” won the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers Award in 1988.

1992

Gururinpa Grill released.

August 1993

A new factory is completed in Noboribetsu City, Hokkaido.

May 1994

We are the first in the industry to be equipped with an incomplete combustion prevention device (sensing burner) in our indoor FE water heaters.

December 1995

Head office main building completed.

September 1997

Installed the industry’s first wall fire prevention device on water heaters.

February 1998

The new Tokyo office building “Paloma Plaza Building” is completed in Nishiazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

January 1999

The waterless grill table stove “Kongaritei” won the Energy Saving Award (Agency for Natural Resources and Energy Commissioner’s Award).

February 2001

The eco60 series of high-efficiency stoves won the Energy Conservation Grand Prize and the Energy Conservation Center Chairman’s Award (Waward).
Bright Grill, a water heater with voice and intercom, is released.

January 2002

Newly established Kiyosu factory.

Three items received the Energy Conservation Grand Prize (Energy Conservation Center Chairman’s Award): a high-efficiency gas small water heater, a latent heat recovery gas high-efficiency water heater, and the gas fan stove “Hinatabokko.”
